Dinner at Biwa
The wife and I went to Biwa for an early dinner last night. We have seen the restaurant on Eater several times but had never visited. The exterior of the building is understated, as is the interior. The building is a shared space similar to Tasty n’ Sons. Luckily the spaced is shared with Simpatica, where we made our Valentine’s Days reservations. More on that in a later posting.
We arrived at ~1830 and there was standing room only in the common areas. Luckily, there were two spots available at the bar area, which is more akin to a sushi bar. We ordered house made ginger soda and Japanese style fried chicken to start things off. The fried chicken was essentially small pieces of chicken thigh with seasoned panko breading and served with a wasabi based dipping sauce. Both were excellent though I wish the panko breading had a little more salt.
We both ordered the ramen bowl with spicy pork. This was an amazing simple but flavorful dish. It was immensely more hearty than I initially imagined. I will return to order this dish again. I only wish they had a downtown location so we would not have to drive.
I am using this blog in an attempt to create repository of documentation, useful links, and code snippets. My goal is to post at minimum once daily. I find that this will be easy during the week, as I am coding or finding information which would be helpful if publicly available. Weekends have been less work heavy as of late, but I am not certain that will be the case in the near future.
In an attempt to prevent proprietary code or processes to be publicly posted, I will scrub some information but I will take great effort to comment enough to provide context.
